COPYTRAIL · PRIVACY
Your clips stay yours.
CopyTrail stores the items you save on your device. We do not operate an account, analytics, or advertising service for the app, and we do not receive your saved clips.
Effective September 28, 2026
What the app handles
When you choose to save from the clipboard, CopyTrail reads the copied text, link, or image and stores it locally. The share extension receives text or links that you explicitly send from the iOS share sheet. The optional keyboard reads saved clips from the app’s shared on-device storage so you can insert selected text into another app. CopyTrail does not record what you type.
Where your data goes
Saved clips, sessions, folders, and related settings remain on your device. CopyTrail does not upload them to a developer server or sync them to an account. iOS may include app data in your device backups, depending on your Apple settings.
When CopyTrail loads a preview for a saved web link, your device may contact that website to request its title, icon, or image. The website may receive normal network information associated with that request, such as your IP address. If you choose to open or share a link, the destination app or website handles it under its own privacy practices.
Purchases
Optional Pro purchases are handled by Apple’s App Store. CopyTrail uses Apple’s StoreKit transaction status to unlock features on your device. We do not receive your payment card details.
Your choices
You decide what to save and can delete saved items, sessions, or folders in the app. Removing CopyTrail from your device removes its local app data, subject to any backups managed by Apple. You can manage clipboard paste permissions and keyboard access in iOS Settings.
